Susannah Baker

Susannah is a dedicated humanitarian recognised for her exceptional work spanning 9 years in refugee resettlement, including support for displaced individuals from Ukraine and other conflict zones. As the Co-founder and Director of The Pickwell Foundation, Susannah leads initiatives aimed at integrating refugees into local communities, particularly where she lives in North Devon. She co-chairs The Welcome Coalition, a national movement supporting UK communities in welcoming refugees and newcomers. Additionally, she chairs the Community Sponsorship Alliance and provides strategic guidance to government bodies, including the Home Office and MHCLG, on various resettlement schemes. Her work, honoured in the King’s Birthday Honours, is driven by a deep belief in creating a safe and inclusive environment for all.
